Bathukamma Festival Known As India’s Largest Flower Festival
Telangana is all set to celebrate its most colorful and culturally rich festival, Bathukamma, from September 21 to 30, 2025. Known as the “Festival of Flowers,” Bathukamma showcases the unique traditions of the state and attracts visitors eager to witness its vibrant spirit.
The nine-day celebration sees women across Telangana arranging seasonal flowers such as marigold, chrysanthemum, and celosia in a conical stack, beautifully decorated and placed at the center of community gatherings. Each evening, families and neighbors come together to sing traditional folk songs and dance around the floral displays, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.
The festival concludes on September 30 with Saddula Bathukamma, when devotees immerse the flower arrangements in lakes and rivers, symbolizing respect for nature and the cycle of life.
For travelers, Bathukamma offers a unique cultural experience, from the floral artistry to the rhythmic songs and dances that bring Telangana’s heritage to life. Major cities like Hyderabad, Warangal, and Karimnagar are expected to host grand celebrations with special cultural programs, decorations, and safe immersion points.
Bathukamma is more than a festival. It is a symbol of community bonding, devotion, and the rich cultural identity of Telangana. Visitors during this time can immerse themselves in a truly local experience that blends tradition, nature, and festivity.
