LADAKH FESTIVAL 2025: A Four-Day Tapestry of Culture, Heritage & Unity
Leh, Ladakh – Mark your calendars: from 21st to 24th September 2025, the Union Territory of Ladakh will host the much-anticipated Ladakh Festival 2025, a cultural bonanza celebrating the region’s rich heritage, art, music, traditional sports, and more.
Organised jointly by the Ladakh UT Administration, the Departments of Tourism & Culture, and LAHDC Leh, the four-day festival aims to immerse locals and visitors alike in Ladakh’s distinct identity.
Highlights include:
- ASI exhibition “From Ruins to Revival” at Leh Palace, showcasing conservation efforts and archival treasures.
- Handicrafts, hand-looms, traditional skills demos (pottery, basket-making, shoe-making etc.) at Eco Park Leh.
- A grand cultural parade of monks, artists, horse & camel riders through Leh Main Market, followed by folk performances and a live concert by Era of Echoes.
- Nightly astronomy under Ladakh’s majestic skies at Shanti Stupa, including a “Celestial Journey” program.
- Traditional sports such as archery, horse-polo (including women’s exhibition matches), plus talks on Ladakhi architecture, dance & mask-dance (Chams), Thangka art, and more.
The festival will culminate on 24th September with a grand closing ceremony in Leh Main Market, including felicitation of outstanding volunteers from the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative. Resource: (ladakh.gov.in)
